Village Theatre Pied Piper presents If You Give a Pig a Party, produced by Dallas Children's Theater On Tour, which selects productions designed with a youth and family audience in mind from materials that reflect the diversity of the world community.
In the tradition of Laura Numeroff's extremely popular books If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give Moose a Muffin, celebration reigns supreme in this new musical of the beloved pig who likes to party. Adapted for the stage by Nancy Schaeffer, with music and lyrics by B. Wolf. Produced by Dallas Children's Theater On Tour, study guides to accompany every production are provided along with a variety of curriculum based workshops and residencies which are available to teachers and students. In addition to the public performance, school matinee performances of If You Give a Pig a Party will also take place at the Everett Performing Arts Center (April 14-15, 2008, 10:00 AM and Noon), and at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center (April 16-17, 2008, 10:00 AM and Noon). School performances may be arranged by calling Village Theatre's Youth Education office at (425) 257-6343. Lastly, if families are interested in getting a taste for this show before April 13, 2008, Village Theatre Pied Piper will present Story Performances, led by Pied Piper Manager Erica Weir. These engaging and interactive 15-minute readings expand upon the themes and books associated with this particular Pied Piper performance, and take place at Imagine Children's Museum on March 26, 2008 at the following times: 11:15 AM, 11:45 AM, 12:15 PM, and 12:45 PM.
