As Broadway's MISERY glides into the final few weeks of its limited fun, its superb leading lady, Laurie Metcalf, sits down with Alan Seales of Talks at Google to chat about her love for stage acting and on finding the humanity in novelist Stephen King's Infamous Number One Fan.

She's joined by cast-mate Leon Addison Brown, director Will Frears, Music/Sound Designer Michael Friedman and producer Mark Kaufman.

Talks at Google is the long-running video series featuring interviews with thousands of leading professionals in hundreds of categories covering arts, politics, news and lifestyles.

"I like the instant gratification of being in front of a live audience," Metcalf explains when telling of her preference for live theatre. "And I like the rehearsal process very much. I like the three, four weeks spent in a rehearsal room really hammering out things. And I like the run of the show. It's all really different skill sets."

Written by two-time Academy Award winner William Goldman, Misery also stars Bruce Willis as successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon. He's rescued from a car crash by his "Number One Fan," Metcalf's Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads the manuscript to his newest novel and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new "Misery" novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and if he does not make her deadline, it will.
