Tokheim's Solo Jazz Comedy 'Stella by Starlight' at Don't Tell Mama March 4 & 7

Heidi Tokheim brings her show, Stella by Starlight, a solo jazz comedy inspired by the music of Herbie Hancock to Don't Tell Mama on March 4 & 7 at 7PM. Directed by Donnetta Lavinia Grays.

"Stella by Starlight, a solo performance by acclaimed actress and musician Heidi Tokheim, follows the journey of Stella, an aspiring jazz piano player, who is female, white and can't swing. What chance does she have? One fateful night, she meets Herbie Hancock who teaches her how to groove which changes everything," describe press notes.

In Los Angeles, Tokheim received a Robby Award Nomination for Hay Fever at the acclaimed classical theatre company, A Noise Within.  Regionally, she has performed at PCPA Theaterfest (Gypsy, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Amadeus – Backstage West Garland Award), California Theatre Center (The Nightingale, Pinocchio), SRT -Santa Rosa, CA (Noises Off, Sylvia, A Chorus Line), Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival (The Tempest) and has toured numerous shows nationwide and internationally.  Tokheim is a Founding Member of New York's Coyote REP Theatre Company where she recently performed in The Naked Eye Planets at the American Theatre of Actors and can be heard in the sound play Coyote Rising.  Other New York shows include The Closet Contender, I Prefer My Apocalypse Medium Rare, Vichyssoise.
