The critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of THE TRICKY PART has received a GLAAD Media Award Nomination for Outstanding New York Theatre: Broadway & Off-Broadway. Written and performed by Martin Moran and directed by Seth Barrish, THE TRICKY PART was produced by James B. Freydberg, Wendy vanden Heuvel, True Love Productions and CTM Productions. THE TRICKY PART played at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre and opened April 12, 2004.

Told with disarming humor and candor, THE TRICKY PART is a journey through the complexities of Catholicism, sexuality and human trespass.

In addition to winning the Obie Award, THE TRICKY PART received two Drama Desk nominations - for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Solo Performance, and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance. He has presented his own work at HERE, Dixon Place and other New York venues. THE TRICKY PART was developed from his memoir to be released by Beacon Press in the Spring of 2005.

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor the media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 28, 2005 at the New York Marriott Marquis; in Los Angeles on April 30 at the Kodak Theatre; and in San Francisco on June 11 at the Westin St. Francis.
