Tarrant Actors Regional Theatre Stages MAN OF LA MANCHA The Tarrant Actors Regional Theatre will open its 2018-19 season in October with the award-winning Broadway musical Man of La Mancha, in the historic W.E. Scott Theatre at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street, Fort Worth TX 76107. The production is directed by TART Artistic Director Allen Walker, with music direction by Kristin Spires and choreography by Jennie Jermaine.

In sixteenth-century Seville, Spain, a part-time actor, poet and playwright named Don Miguel de Cervantes has been imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition for an offense against the Church. In their dungeon, the other prisoners accost Cervantes and his manservant with the intent of stealing all their possessions. Desperate to save a manuscript he carries with him, Cervantes demands a "trial"-and stages, with the help of his devoted servant, his own defense: the story of Don Quixote. Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' novel, Man of La Mancha is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. Powerful, brutal, hilarious and heartbreaking, it celebrates the perseverance of a man who refuses to relinquish his ideals or his passion. The award-winning score includes classic songs like "The Impossible Dream," "I, Don Quixote," "Dulcinea," "I Really Like Him," "Little Bird," and "To Each His Dulcinea."

The cast includes Brad Stephens as Miguel de Cervantes, Alex Krus as Sancho Panza, and Amanda Williams Ware as Aldonza. The supporting cast includes Carlo Aceytuno, Emma Bruce, Kirk Corley, Kierstin Curtis, Chris D'Auria, Gen Donnell, Ashley Douglas, Bryan S. Douglas, Hunter Douglas, Kelley Garland, Katy Hill, Larry Launders, Michelle Phillips, Kristal Seid, Jason Solis, John Tillman, Aaron Vaughan, and Chase York.

Scenic design is by Ellen Mizener, lighting design by Bryan S. Douglas, costumes by Autumn Hyun, properties by Don Gwynne, and sound design by Allen Walker.

"We are incredibly excited to be able to present Man of La Mancha as our first production in the wonderful Scott Theatre," said Walker. "It has especially been a delight to work on this timeless classic that not only is one of the American theatre's most successful musicals, but also one whose message of kindness and perseverance is just as timely today as when it was released in 1966."

The play runs October 5-14, with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. There will be an opening night gala reception after the performance on Friday, Oct. 5, featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres along with champagne, beer and wine for guests age 21 and older. A special "industry night" performance will be on Thursday, Oct. 11.
