Tails will wag Off-Broadway when a new musical featuring a quintet of canine characters begins previews June 7th and opens June 18th at the 45th Street Theatre (354 W. 45th St.).

Directed and choreographed by Amas Musical Theatre's Christopher Scott, Tails features music by Jess Platt and book and lyrics by Mark Masi. "Tails tells the story of five dogs in a dog pound who wait and hope to be chosen for adoption," according to production notes. "The dogs include: Speagle, the love smitten mutt; Sophie, the show dog; and a new puppy surrounded by mystery," state press notes. Bethe Austin, Miguel Cervantes, William Thomas Evans, Gerry McIntyre and Tracey Stephens will star in Tails, which will feature musical direction by Matt Eisenstein.

"We are having great fun bringing Tails to life because this full book musical is of interest to dog lovers, musical theatre enthusiasts as well as families," stated Eric Krebs, who will produce the show.

Tails will boast sets by Peter Feuchtwanger, lighting by Mitch Dana and costumes by Cheryl McCarron.

Tickets for Tails are available at $45, and a family package of four tickets can be purchased for $135. Tails plays Tuesday-Saturday at 8 PM with matinees on Saturday at 2:30 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Call (212) 352-3101, or visit www.theatermania.com or www.tailsthemusical.com for tickets.
