This week, "tick, tick...BOOM!" opened at New York City Center Encores! starring Leslie Odom Jr. ("Smash"), Tony Award winner Karen Olivo ("In the Heights," "West Side Story"), and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda ("In the Heights," "Bring It On"). Written by Jonathan Larson, the musical first premiered off-Broadway in 2001 after being revamped from its original state as a solo rock monologue. This week, the annual "Broadway Bares" was performed at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. The event, which began in 1992, has raised $11.3 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS through 23 performances. It was created by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell. This year, the opening number featured Matthew Saldivar ("Act One") and many glittery, sexy dancers. Click here to see more photos from the opening number!

This week, the company of this year's original musical "If/Then" celebrated one hundred performances on Broadway. The cast, featuring Idina Menzel, James Snyder, Jerry Dixon, and LaChanze, gathered backstage and commemorated the event with a cake. The musical was written by the popular duo Tom Kitt and Brian Yorke ("Next to Normal"). Click here to see more coverage of the celebration!

The company of the recently-opened "Holler If Ya Hear Me" held their Gypsy Robe ceremony this week. The tradition of the Gypsy Robe began in 1950, and it honors the company member with the most Broadway chorus credits. Chorus member Tracee Beazer was honored with the robe for this production. The robe was passed down by Andrea Goss ("Cabaret") who was presented with the robe in April. Click here to see more exclusive coverage of this special event!

Brought to you by historic New York City venue The Town Hall, the Broadway by the Year Series just covered the most recent decade of musical theatre in its concert "The Broadway Musicals of 1990-2014." Yesterday, Broadway composer Mary Rodgers passed away at age 83. She will forever be remembered as the composer of the 1959 musical "Once Upon A Mattress," which is still being produced all over the country today. She was the daughter of composer Richard Rodgers and Dorothy Rodgers, the latter whom she collaborated with. This week at 54 Below, an impressive lineup of performers gathered together at 54 Below for the concert "Broadway Celebrates Pride Week." Among the performers were two-time Tony nominee Robin de Jesus, Glee's Alex Newell, and many more. Click here to see more coverage of this special evening!

Earlier this week, the Public Theatre presented a one-night-only gala at the Delacorte Theatre called "One Thrilling Combination." The gala honored Marvin Hamlisch and the 40-year anniversary of the timeless Broadway musical "A Chorus Line." Some of the performers included Billy Porter ("Kinky Boots"), Jane Lynch ("Glee," "Annie), Jonathan Groff ("Spring Awakening"), and many more. Click here to see more photos from the event!

Disney's latest Broadway musical ALADDIN celebrated the release of its cast album this week at Barnes and Noble with a CD signing. James Monroe Iglehart, who won a Tony Award for his performance as the Genie, as well as cast members Jonathan Freeman, Adam Jacobs, and Courtney Reed, were there to celebrate the event.
