THEY FIGHT Trailer Arrives Ahead of Hulu Premiere
André Holland stars as a reformed ex-con who finds purpose coaching teenage boxers at a D.C. youth gym.
Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for THEY FIGHT, an upcoming film starring André Holland as Walt Manigan, a reformed ex-con navigating the challenges of reintegrating into society and working to become the father he hopes to be. The trailer offers the first extended look at the project ahead of its streaming debut.
In THEY FIGHT, Walt finds renewed purpose when he returns to a boxing gym, where he takes on the role of coach for a group of teenage boys at a local Washington, D.C. youth facility. The story builds toward a National Championship bout between two of his young athletes who are also close friends, framing the sport as both a proving ground and a source of connection for characters working through difficult circumstances. Written and directed by Sheldon Candis, the film also stars Wendell Pierce and Samira Wiley.
THEY FIGHT had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 8 before heading to streaming. The film is set to begin streaming on Hulu and through Hulu on Disney+ on Friday, July 17, 2026.
BroadwayWorld previously covered the film when an earlier trailer for THEY FIGHT arrived alongside the Tribeca premiere announcement, offering an initial look at Holland in the lead role.
