THE ADDAMS FAMILY'S Zachary James Returns Home in Concert to Benefit Springstead High School

Zachary James (Lurch in The Addams Family on Broadway, principal artist at English National Opera, Teatro Real, Los Angeles Opera) will return to his alma mater, Springstead High School, in Spring Hill, Florida to give a special benefit concert Sunday, October 29, 2017. The concert will feature musical theatre and operatic repertoire highlighting his fifteen year career on the stage and will benefit the music and theatre programs at Springstead High School under the leadership of Mark Pennington.

Zachary James made his operatic debut in 2004 creating the role of Oberon in the world premiere of Kristin Hevner's Il Sogno at the Teatro Citta della Pieve in Umbria and made his Broadway debut in the 2007 Royal National Theatre transfer, Coram Boy. He went on to play Hassinger in the original cast of the 2008 Tony Award winning Lincoln Center Theater Broadway Revival of South Pacific and created the role of Lurch in The Addams Family on Broadway in 2010. James created the role of Abraham Lincoln in the world premiere of Philip Glass' The Perfect American at Madrid's Teatro Real in 2013 and reprised the performance for London's English National Opera and Australia's Opera Queensland. He performed the role of The Scribe in the recent Olivier Award winning production of Akhnaten at English National Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Terry in the world premiere of Breaking the Waves with Opera Philadelphia and has also appeared with the The New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Central City Opera, Union Avenue Opera, Anchorage Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Shreveport Opera, Knoxville Opera, Opera Roanoke and Opera Ithaca. This season James will sing the role of Fafner in Das Rheingold with Arizona Opera and Vodnik in Rusalka with Des Moines Metro Opera and will make his Metropolitan Opera debut and return to English National Opera in 2019.
