Following a sold out world premiere co-production by at Houston's Alley Theatre and New York's The Flea Theater, NSangou Njikam's hip-hop musical SYNCING INK is returning by popular demand for a one night only "MIXTAPE" concert presentation on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at 9:30PM at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. Based on true events, SYNCING INK is directed by Jeffrey Page, the critically acclaimed choreographer behind Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)" and Roundabout Theatre Company's VIOLET, and produced by Victoria Weinberg.

Hailed for its "infectious energy" by The New York Times, SYNCING INK follows Gordon, a young man who wants to rhyme: for respect; for admiration; for a beautiful woman. With guidance from his ancestors, his journey takes him deeper into hip-hop -- and his purpose. Noted by American Theatre Magazine as part of its "Role Call: People to Watch," award-winning playwright NSangou Njikam stars in his own voyage of discovery, revealing the sacrifice necessary to freestyle our truth with "the urgency of life and death" (Time Out NY).

Additional returning original cast members include McKenzie Frye (Tarrell Alvin McCraney's WIG OUT), Nuri Hazzard ("American Milkshake"), Elisha Lawson (NBC's "Shades of Blue"), Adesola Osakalumi (FELA!), and Kara Young (The Public's PRETTY HUNGER). Rimarkable joins as "The Mutha."

Tickets, priced at $20 each, are sold out. For last minute availability and further information, please visit publictheater.org.
