The culmination of a five month program by Early Stages, Spring Reckoning, is an evening of original poetry and movement by students from Beacon and University Heights high schools that will take place at The Zipper Factory Theater (336 West 37th Street) on Monday, April 14 at 9:30 p.m.  Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door and all proceeds go to benefit Early Stages.

One hundred and fifty high school students from public schools in the five boroughs attended Spring Awakening and worked with teaching artists writing poetry inspired by the themes of the show. On April 14th, twenty five of those students will perform their original work and will be joined by Lauren Pritchard, who originated the role of Ilse, and Emma Hunton, who is currently playing the role on Broadway. This one night only performance, MC'd by def poet Al Letson, will bring together the honest, raw and powerful work of some of the city's high school students with cast members from Spring Awakening's for an unforgettable night of emotion and catharsis.

Early Stages is strives to link New York City schools with the artistic community, inspiring children to explore their own voices while building literacy.
