On Thursday, June 30th, the starry Broadway production of Steel Magnolias will reach its 100th performance at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W. 45th Street).

Steel Magnolias, which is by Robert Harling and directed by Jason Moore, is receiving its Broadway premiere, although it's long-running off-Broadway production at the Lucille Lortel Theatre led to an acclaimed and popular 1989 film that starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Darryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis and Julia Roberts.

Steel Magnolias features Delta Burke as Truvy, Christine Ebersole as M'Lynn, Rebecca Gayheart as Shelby, Marsha Mason as Ouiser, Lily Rabe as Annelle and Frances Sternhagen as Clairee. The play follows the lives of six indomitable Southern women as they share their personal triumphs, tragedies, beauty tips, recipes, and more than the occasional piece of scandalous gossip in Truvy's beauty shop in Chinquapin, Louisiana.

Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, matinees Wednesdays at 2pm, Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets for Steel Magnolias are on sale through Telecharge.com online, by phone at (212) 239-6200, and in person at the Lyceum Theatre box office.
