A star-studded capacity crowd "haunted" the annual Hulaween benefit for Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project (NYRP) on Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. BroadwayWorld.com braved the ghouls and goblins to bring you all the spooky photos!
A crowd of over 1,000 guests were entertained by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. In addition, Emmy award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin performed her "D List" stand-up comedy throughout the evening as iconic American designer Michael Kors perused the crowd for winners of the annual costume contest.
Alice Waters, the internationally acclaimed chef from Chez Panisse in Berkeley, received the "Wind Beneath My Wings" Award for her pioneering advocacy for locally grown and sustainable harvested food that has become a model for restaurant and home cooking all over the world.
Dress for the event was "Costumes or Else" and celebrity event planner Robert Isabell created the ambiance of "A Ghoulish Green Market" as a further tribute to Waters.
