The New York Musical Theater Festival presents River's End, a new musical with book and lyrics by Cheryl Coons and music by Chuck Larkin, from September 21st through October 1st.

"Based on the real-life disappearance of Glen and Bessie Hyde who vanished on their daredevil river-rafting honeymoon to the Grand Canyon in 1928, River's End weaves together two completely different versions of their journey, with two pairs of actors playing the Hydes-and two surprising theories of what might have happened to them," state production notes.

The cast features Evan Casey, Colby Foytik, Dani Marcus, Phyllis Somerville, Tempe Thomas, and Jonathan Weir.

River's End is directed by Rick DesRochers with musical direction by Laura Bergquist. The set is designed by Elisha Schaefer and the lighting is designed by Herrick Goldman. Costume design is by Brigid Brown and sound design is by Danny Erdberg.

River's End was supported by a residency and staged readings at the 2004 O'Neill Music Theatre Conference of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, Waterford, CT. The show received the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script and Best Original Score, the ASCAP Foundation Harold Arlen Musical Theatre Award, and was Finalist for the Edgar Award, given by the Mystery Writers of America.

River's End plays at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor) September 21st at 8:00pm, September 22nd at 4:30pm, September 23rd at 8:00pm, September 24th at 4:30 pm, September 27th 9:00pm, and October 1st at 1:00pm.
