Patrick Mellen, currently seen on Broadway in Lestat, will present two performances of his solo show, ringfinger on June 4 and June 25, with all proceeds benefiting Marriage Equality New York - an organization dedicated to the issue of marriage equality for same-sex couples in the state of New York. ringfinger will be presented at The Triad (158 West 72nd St, 2nd floor - btw Columbus & Broadway).

ringfinger's June 4th performance is on the eve of the congressional hearing regarding the Federal Marriage Amendment. FMA is the proposed amendment to the US Constitution, which would define marriage in the US as a union of one man and one woman, and would prevent legislative or judicial extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex couples or other unmarried persons.

ringfinger stars Patrick Mellen (currently making his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Lestat) and features his take on the same-sex marriage debacle and an array of pop, jazz, Broadway standards and rock songs including: Nina Simone's "Be My
Husband;" Nellie McKay's "I Wanna Get Married;" Nine Inch Nails' "Ringfinger;" Stephen Sondheim's "Marry Me a Little;" Britney Spears' "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman;" the Dresden Dolls' "Coin-operated Boy" and many more. ringfinger will feature back-up vocals by "the bridesmaids" Lucy Sorenson and Leannis Maxwell.

Directed by DJ Salisbury (Creative Director and Founder of "The Honey Boys") ringfinger features additional materials by Jimmy Bennett (co-creator of Off-Broadway's Nuclear Family) and musical direction and arrangements by Douglas Maxwell.

Mellen  has performed regionally at such venues as Actors Theater of Louisville, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, HERE and manhattantheatresource. He was the baritone standby for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's 2003 and 2004 National Tour.

Founded in 1998, Marriage Equality New York is the oldest organization in the state of New York to advocate full and equal marriage for same-sex couples. A grassroots, not-for-profit organization, MENY and its dedicated volunteers are devoted to ending discrimination in civil marriage through education, awareness and media campaigns, political actions, and coalition building. They are the first organization solely dedicated to the issue of marriage equality for same-sex couples in the state of New York.

ringfinger will be presented Sundays June 4 and June 25 at 9:15pm at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street, 2nd floor - btw Columbus Ave. and Broadway). There is a $10 donation at the door and a two drink minimum - with all proceeds going to Marriage Equality New York. For reservation, please call 212-479-7995.
