Kevin Chamberlin will return to Broadway to star in the hit musical Chicago as Amos Hart beginning Monday, June 12th. Succeeding P.J. Benjamin, he will stay with the show through Sunday, September 10th.

Chamberlin will follow a number of new cast replacements into the show. On April 17th, Obba Babatunde will succeed John O'Hurley as Billy Flynn, Charlotte D'Amboise will replace Robin Givens as Roxie and Brenda Braxton will succeed Amra-Faye Wright as Velma. The show also stars Lillias White as Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Chamberlin originated the role of Charlie in Dirty Blonde on Broadway and most recently starred in the play at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End. For Dirty Blonde, Chamberlin received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations. He also received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for his performance as Horton the Elephant in Broadway's Seussical. Other Broadway credits include My Favorite Year, Abe Lincoln in Illinois and Triumph of Love, in addition to City Center Encores Series appearances in Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 and One Touch of Venus. Off-Broadway, he co-starred with Sarah Jessica Parker in Wonder of the World at MTC.

Chicago, which opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on November 14th 1996, has reached a run of over 3,900 performances at the Ambassador Theatre (215 W. 49th St.); the show is the longest-running revival in Broadway history. Chicago received 6 1997 Tonys (including Best Revival of a Musical) under the direction of Walter Bobbie and the choreography of star Ann Reinking. The revival, based on Bobbie's stylistically stripped-down Encores! staging, featured direction and choreography by Bob Fosse in its original 1975 production. Chicago features a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse.
