Jonathan Pryce Opens Up on SLOW HORSES Dementia Role and New Grandbaby News
The actor reflects on the responsibility of depicting memory loss on screen.
Jonathan Pryce appeared on TODAY to discuss his return as David Cartwright in Season Six of Apple TV's SLOW HORSES, opening up about what it means to portray a character living with dementia. "It's a huge responsibility, there are very good things that come out of it," Pryce said, adding that "seeing characters with dementia demystifies it."
Pryce also used the appearance to share personal news, revealing that he is becoming a grandfather and joking that the baby will call him "Sir."
SLOW HORSES follows a team of disgraced British intelligence operatives relegated to Slough House, a dumping ground department of MI5, as they navigate espionage threats despite their career-ending mistakes. The series stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, and Saskia Reeves.
The show's sixth season, adapted from Mick Herron's novels 'Joe Country' and 'Slough House,' premiered its trailer ahead of a run of six episodes.
