The 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, welcomes back original cast member Janet Dacal as "Nina" on Friday, February 19, 2010, and welcomes David Del Rio as "Sonny" on Monday, February 15, 2010.
Mandy Gonzalez and Tony Award nominee Robin de Jesús both starred in the 2007 Off-Broadway engagement of In The Heights, and have been with the Broadway production since the first performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Mandy Gonzalez's final performance will be Sunday, January 31 at 7pm, and Robin de Jesús' final performance will be Sunday, February 14 at 7pm. From February 1 through February 18 the role of "Nina" will alternate between understudies Nina Lafarga, Courtney Reed and Gabrielle Ruiz.
David Del Rio (Sonny) makes his Broadway debut in In the Heights. A recent graduate of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, School of Film & Television, he is best known for his starring role in Nickelodeon's "The Troop." Other TV: "Law and Order: SVU." Janet Dacal (Nina) returns to In The Heights having originated the role of Carla in the original Off-Broadway and Broadway productions.
