Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has announced Patricia Dayleg has joined the company as Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. She officially begins in the newly created role today, October 18th following ten years in government and community-based nonprofits. Dayleg will be responsible for the development and execution of the vision of a more inclusive and diverse workforce for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's Broadway and San Francisco productions and also for Funny Girl on Broadway.

Patricia Dayleg said, "Growing up, Harry Potter showed me and so many others the magic of true belonging. But the last 19 months have shed much-needed light on inequities that hold us back from that - inequities that have impacted marginalized people for generations. I'm excited to be part of the team to help Harry Potter and the Cursed Child build an inclusive culture so that everyone truly feels seen and valued. It's beautiful to see Broadway's commitment to weave equity and inclusion into the way it does its work, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to execute that vision."

ABOUT PATRICIA DAYLEG (SHE/HER)

For the last four years, Patricia Dayleg has served as the Deputy Chief Diversity Officer with the New York City Comptroller, an independently elected office that manages the fiscal health of the City. In this role, she monitored the diversity of the City's $20 billion procurement budget and produced trainings for over 3,000 marginalized business owners to better access City opportunities.

Among Dayleg's accomplishments at the Comptroller's Office was to lead the research and writing of Making the Grade, a report that examines how well City agencies meet contracting goals with diverse business owners while outlining policy recommendations to improve equity across the City. These efforts have led to an Executive Order deploying Chief Diversity Officers within every City agency and a voter initiative institutionalizing the local minority business program within the City's constitution.

In addition, Dayleg is a certified life coach, working with women of color change makers to address internalized oppression and imposter syndrome and to cultivate compassion, joy, and wholeness in and outside of their work.
