HAK Premieres In New York City

HAK premieres in New York City as a part of HB Studio Rehearsal Space Residency. After being staged in several cities in Europe and Turkey, HAK will be performed in English for the first time.

Based on Amal Omran's real-life story, HAK is written by Berkay Ates, directed by Jee Duman and produced by Buket Gulbeyaz. After its well-received productions in Turkey and Europe, the creators of New York production are proud to announce the United States premiere of HAK. The play is translated by Jee Duman, Maria Argentina Souza, and Buket Gulbeyaz.

Originally written as a one-woman show, HAK is interpreted as a devised theatre piece by its director, Jee Duman. Following the journey of five characters in different spaces and time, HAK's movement choreography is done by Cemre Su Salur.

Featuring Maria Argentina Souza, Dahiana Castro, Buket Gulbeyaz, Ricardo Montt and Brian Simmons, the show offers the audience a journey of human experiences under extreme conditions. HAK has been acclaimed by the play's international audience as an outcry of people who had to flee their homelands. The creators of New York production is proud to have a chance to communicate one of the biggest humanitarian crisis.
