City Winery Hosts Arturo O'Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra For New Weekly Brunch Residency

The Loft at City Winery recently began hosting Arturo O'Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra for a new weekly residency in its New York City location.  

As part of its popular live brunch shows, the weekly live jazz show runs from now through the end of May 2026 on Sunday mornings, starting at 11:30 am, inside the intimate entertainment venue.

The GRAMMY Award-winning pianist, composer, and bandleader Arturo O'Farrill, who was born in Mexico City, leads the 18-piece orchestra that infuses Latin rhymes with modern jazz for a lively performance you can’t help but move in your seat to. 

The orchestra has been around since 2002 and has since pushed the boundaries of Latin jazz while exploring themes of cultural identity. O'Farrill and his ensemble have performed at many renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Kennedy Center, with City Winery as their latest venue to showcase their incredible musical talent, establishing their status as a true genre-bending icon.  

While listening to the sounds of the orchestra, you’re able to order food and drink from the Concert Dining Brunch Menu. Since it’s at a winery, we kicked things off with a glass of City Bubbles Rosé Cava, a Spanish sparkling wine with bright, fruity notes. 

For food, we opted for the Winemaker’s Breakfast that included scrambled eggs, a buttermilk Biscuit, potatoes, and a choice of bacon or sausage (we went with the latter and were not disappointed). This big plate was decent, especially the fluffy eggs, but what really impressed us were the Lemon Poppy Pancakes. Made with lemon ricotta and topped with blueberry compote and lemon curd, these were light yet rich and decadent with every bite. The pancakes are no longer on the concert dining menu, but are on the regular brunch menu. If you ask, they should be able to accommodate as they did for us.

Glancing around at the other tables, we noticed many were enjoying a bottle of wine with either a cheese plate or truffle fries, which seemed like the best option. With only one server to manage the stretch of tables in the room, you’ll likely be waiting a bit for the eggs, but the more snackable items seem to come out pretty quickly. 

The Arturo O'Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra weekly residency runs now through Sunday, May 17th, for brunch, with two additional evening performances on Sunday, May 24 at 7 pm and Sunday, May 31 at 7:30 pm.
