On Monday, April 8, 2013, Broadway's acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking musical smash Chicago welcomes Christine Pedi in the role of Cook County Jail's "keeper of the keys" -- Matron "Mama" Morton.

Pedi will appear for a ten-week limited engagement through Sunday, June 16 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.)

Christine Pedi has a long association with the satirical revue Forbidden Broadway and a Drama Desk nomination for Forbidden Hollywood, having played both shows in New York, London and around the world.

On Broadway, she appeared in Talk Radio with Liev Schreiber and Little Me with Martin Short and Faith Prince. Her most recent stage credits include Off-Broadway's NEWSical the Musical and Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating & Marriage.

Her multi-award winning cabaret act Great Dames has played New York, London, South Africa and all over the United States. She can be heard daily on SiriusXM Radio's "On Broadway" Channel 72, playing music of the stage and screen, and interviewing theatre legends. Pedi is also the host of "The Callback" each Monday night at 11 p.m. at Broadway newest nightclub, 54 Below.

In the role of Matron "Mama" Morton, Pedi takes over for long-time Chicago veteran Carol Woods, who concludes her celebrated two-year engagement on Sunday, April 7.

CHICAGO also stars Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Christopher Sieber as Billy Flynn (through Sunday, April 7), Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
