Catherine McCormack to Take 39 Steps in London

Film and theatre star Catherine McCormack will star in a stage adaptation of The 39 Steps, which will play London's Tricycle Theatre beginning August 10th.  The show will open on August 14th.

The play has been adapted by Patrick Barlow The 39 Steps is best known as a classic 1935 Alfred Hitchcock espionage thriller; Charles Bennett adapted his screenplay from John Buchan's novel.

In the show, McCormack, Rupert Degas, Charles Edwards and Simon Gregor will play over 150 roles. Director/actress Maria Atkin will helm the production.

McCormack, who received an Olivier Award nomination for her performance in All My Sons at the Royal National Theatre in 2001, has appeared on screen in Spy Game, The Tailor of Panama, A Rumor of Angels, Shadow of the Vampire, Dancing at Lughnasa, Dangerous Beauty and Braveheart.
