Cast of MATILDA to Perform on CBS THIS MORNING, 6/3

MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be featured on "CBS This Morning" this Monday, June 3, when the show's Tony Award nominated composer and lyricist Tim Minchin and the four girls who share the title role join correspondent Mo Rocca for an interview and performance. The four "Matildas" (Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro) will each receive a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater.

"CBS This Morning" airs locally in the tri-state area on WCBS2 between 7:00-9:00AM. MATILDA THE MUSICAL's segment is scheduled to air in the 8:30AM half hour.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL opened to rapturous reviews last month and has received 12 Tony Award nominations including one for Best Musical. MATILDA THE MUSICAL is also the recipient of five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

Produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage), who helms this exhilarating and ingenious production with a book by playwright Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin.

The production has sets and costumes by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and sound by Simon Baker.
