CHOP SHOP Reveals The 2019 Dance Festival Artists

CHOP SHOP: Bodies of Work returns to Meydenbauer Center Theatre February 16 & 17, 2019, serving up a unique sampling of contemporary dance work by local and national artists. In its 12th annual edition, CHOP SHOP presents the work of:

Lauren Horn//Subira vs. Movement Dance Company (Windsor, Conn.) - Seattle premiere

Javier Padilla & The Movement Playground (New York) - Seattle premiere

The Stone Dance Collective (The Eastside) - World premiere

Margot Gelber & Dancers (New York) - Seattle premiere

Lydia Relle (Phoenix / Seattle) - Seattle premiere

natalya shoaf (San Francisco) - Seattle premiere

Julia Antinozzi (New York) - Seattle premiere

Julie Crothers (New York) - Seattle premiere

"The work curated for this year's festival is both thrilling and deeply insightful, featuring a unique collection of dance makers sharing their individual points of view on the world as they see it," explains festival founder, producer and curator Eva Stone.

Of the eight dance works comprising the CHOP SHOP 2019 festival program, seven are Seattle premieres and one is a world premiere. Festival performances will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., at Meydenbauer Center Theatre in Bellevue, Wash. Both performances present the same program. Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday, November 23 at Brown Paper Tickets (brownpapertickets.com/event/3826954).
