At last! As difficult as it was to edit only 3 minutes of Kristin Chenoweth's spectacular night at Carnegie Hall on May 3rd, here it is!

This was Chenoweth's 2nd time playing the famed venue, solo. The first time was nearly 10 years ago, with her Musical Director at the time, Composer/Lyricist Andrew Lippa.

The thrilling evening was surprise after surprise, leading to multiple thunderous ovations.

If you read the PLAYBILL for the evening, it appeared we were in for a lovely evening, with her talented touring cast (Jennifer Diamond, Constantine Germanacos & Johnny Stellard). But, it would appear that simply wasn't enough for the star, her Musical Director & Conductor, Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Director Richard Jay-Alexander.

As the evening unraveled, we were treated to Ms. Chenoweth's sublime and versatile voice, coupled with stories, information, heartbreak and laughter. The program also boasted excellent lighting and sound from Matt Berman.

She thrilled us with songs, joined by young actor/singer Sam Poon, Andrew Lippa and saving the biggest surprise for last ... Opera legend, Deborah Voigt, who was MORE than game for the night.

Then, Chenoweth knocked it out of the ballpark with Jerry Herman's IF HE WALKED INTO MY LIFE, from MAME. A thunderous standing ovation followed and as she took her bows and her entire cast joined her onstage, another surprise moment and, clearly, this time the surprise was on her! Her father, Jerry Chenoweth, who we had been able to see enjoying the show all evening (from the box on stage left, with wife and Kristin's mom, Junie) - walked onto the stage to present his daughter with flowers. Kristin was overwhelmed. You could see it so clearly. And so were we.

KRISTIN CHENOWETH: THE EVOLUTION OF A SOPRANO was a night to remember!

Since the night of the concert, BWW has received a flurry of requests for the SONG LIST. Here it is, compliments of Ms. Chenoweth and her Creative Team, along with footage from the night, filmed and edited by Becky Rosky,

BroadwayWorld.com is proud, and feels very privileged, to have been given EXCLUSIVE access to the evening's historic performance.
