According to a casting notice, Avenue Q will soon be embarking on a national tour.

The casting notice seeks auditioners for an "ongoing tour through July of 2008."  The tour, which will begin in August of 2007, will be produced by Q Tour Limited Partnership, Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman and Jeffrey Seller.

Avenue Q blends puppets and people in a charmingly R-rated tale of friendship, love, sex and the search for purpose. The show, which opened on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre on July 31st 2003 and won Tony Awards for Best Book (by Jeff Whitty) and Best Score (by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx), currently stars Howie Michael Smith, Mary FaberRobert McClure, Evan Harrington, Ann Sanders, Haneefah Wood, and original cast member Jennifer Barnhart.

The show, which has run for over 1,400 performances, has also been seen in a Las Vegas production and opened on June 28th in London, where it continues to play.  This June, it will receive its West Coast premiere at the Spreckels Theatre in San Diego.
