NUTCRACKER Community Dress Rehearsal Shares Joy Of The Season

The iconic American drama, featuring an all-Alaskan cast directed by Art Rotch, will play Oct. 5-Nov. 3 at the theatre in Juneau, and Nov. 9-25 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage.

THE BOOK OF MORMON Announces Lottery Ticket Policy For Anchorage Tour Stop

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has announced a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins Oct. 19 at Atwood Concert Hall, presented by Anchorage Concert Association, and plays a limited two-week engagement through Oct. 28. In Anchorage, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the CenterTix box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece.

Tig Notaro Adds Additional Performance in Anchorage

Comedian Tig Notaro's first show in Alaska sold out months in advance so the Anchorage Concert Association has added a second performance at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Cello-rock band Break of Reality, which sold out their last two visits to Anchorage, has also added a 10 p.m. late-night set March 29, 2019.

Summer Theatre Arts Rendezvous (STAR), Perseverance Theatre's five-week youth acting program, provides theatrical training and performance opportunities to students aged 10-18 who are excited about theatre. In addition to rehearsals, STAR participants take daily workshops on voice, movement and acting technique, culminating in three fully produced shows that are perfect summer entertainment for the whole family: Once on This Island Jr, As You Like It, and an original piece, Extreme Theatre! Performances run between July 20 and July 29.
