Wilton's Music Hall is very proud to announce the full line-up for its exciting new dance festival, Wilton's Strike!, a new dance platform offering emerging dancers and choreographers the opportunity to develop a piece of work with Wilton's and perform on its historic stage this September.

Wilton's Strike! was conceived as a showcase for new work and talent and is being developed in The Chrysalis Club at Wilton's. The Chrysalis Club represents a diverse and innovative programme of events taking placing in Wilton's while work is going on to finally repair all the derelict spaces. This work is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The festival will present a selection of styles and original concepts under the theme of metamorphosis and will be the perfect chance to witness the stars of tomorrow in an intimate setting at no cost.

Critics are invited to attend and review all performances, which will be live-streamed to expose the work to as broad an audience as possible.

The artists performing will be:

Rebecca Evans (Pell Ensemble) and Lorenza Lo (Flock Collective)

Elise Nuding will use contemporary ropework to demonstrate peoples quests to simplify their complex and entangling lives.

Jo Meredith in collaboration with Sean Damian Bruno
The Metamorphosis of Perception: "Please wait whilst we try to connect you..." (working title)

Submissions Received

Hundreds of applicants applied to be part of Wilton's Strike! These successful applicants now have the chance to follow in the footsteps of an illustrious group of dancers and choreographers with whom Wilton's has worked including the Mark Bruce Company whose Dracula won the 2014 Southbank Sky Arts Award for Dance. Applications were free of charge and open to any style, genre or age, the only restriction was that work had to be entirely new. The choreographers will now receive a £1,500 fee to help develop their work to performance level, rehearsal time at Wilton's and mentoring from experienced choreographers and Wilton's Artistic Team.

Crowd Funding Campaign

To support this event, Wilton's Music Hall successfully raised funds through the crowd-funding website Indiegogo. Donors contributed online and unlocked perks such as signed posters and shoutouts in order to reach the goal of £2,500 for a new dance floor.
