London based feminist comedy duo, The Blue Tits, are making their debut Fringe appearance this August. Self-proclaimed feminist bandits, Hannah and Kate mash together stand-up, music and theatre as they tell their stories of random acts of feminism. Beaver Forever is the proof that they did honestly try to Make A Difference and do a bit of activism. It just didn't work out the way they planned...
With songs such as 'There is no glass ceiling you just look like dog shit' and 'The ballad of the feminists who've never been raped', The Blue Tits tiptoe the tightrope of risk as they swap ironing for irony, subverting the everyday misogyny that plagues their 20-something lives.
Formed at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Blue Tits have gone from strength to strength since being unleashed into the real world. Receiving funding and mentoring from London based theatre collective, Drunken Chorus, and performing at the Sprint Festival hosted at Camden People's Theatre has helped the girls gain a diverse following throughout London.
The Blue Tits are fresh, silly, sexy and political. They aren't trying to prove that feminists can be funny, because that's stupid.
