BWW Contests: Win Tickets to The Woman in Black Premiere in Toronto

The Woman in Black is currently the second longest running play on London’s West End (the Mousetrap is the first) and each year scares and enthralls many enthusiastic theatre goers who venture out to hear the story of young solicitor Arthur Kipps, a man haunted by the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman.

Theatrical productions are often adapted from stage to screen, but not often are they as highly anticipated as this new adaptation by Director James Watkins.  Starring none other Daniel Radcliffe (made famous by playing Harry Potter and coming off two successful theatre roles in Equus and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), the film is shaping up to be one of the must-see movies of the winter season.

The Toronto premiere takes place on January 26th at the Scotiabank Theatre at Richmond and John, and will feature a very exclusive “black carpet” event attended by Mr. Radcliffe.  Alliance Canada is organizing some unique contests surrounding the premiere, including a chance for one lucky journalist to interview Daniel one on one.  In addition, BWW is thrilled to be able to offer its readers the chance to win double passes to attend the Black Carpet premiere and be one of the first people to screen the movie.

In order to enter, follow @broadwaybabyto and @broadwayworld on Twitter and tweet the following: “I want to brave the black carpet and win tickets to #WomanInBlack from @broadwaybabyto and @broadwayworld”  Only one entry per Twitter account, and winners will be drawn at random and announced on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012.

Only one entry per Twitter account, multiple tweets will only be counted once.

Winners will be notified by DM by 11:59PM on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012.

Winners will receive two (2) passes to the screening at 7PM at Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto and are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.

Kelly Cameron Kelly Cameron's love affair with the theatre began when she was just five years old, on an outing to see the Original Canadian Cast of Les Miserables at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. She instantly fell in love, and is honoured to be representing the Toronto contingent of BroadwayWorld as Senior Editor overseeing the GTA region.

Her writing career started almost by accident, though it has always been in her blood as her Mom was an English teacher who firmly believed in the importance of being able to turn a phrase. She also loved sharing her love of theatre with her students (and her children), and was a staunch supporter of the arts in Toronto.

When not at the theatre, you can usually find Kelly with a Starbucks in one hand and her BlackBerry in the other, tweeting, reading or doing something quirky and clumsy for the sake of getting that next big story.

She's incredibly grateful to the amazing Toronto theatre community who have embraced her with open arms, giving her the greatest gift a little redheaded theatre geek could ever ask for - getting to be a part of this vibrant arts and culture scene. She may have never had the skills to be on the stage, but is thankful every day she gets to write about the inspiring people who do.
