Alumnae Theatre Announces New Ideas Festival for March of 2016

The Alumnae Theatre's New Ideas Festival is an annual, three-week, juried festival of new writing, works-in-progress and experimental theatre, with a different program of plays each week and staged readings on Saturdays at noon. The 2016 festival takes place in the Studio at Alumnae Theatre and runs from March 9-27, 2016.

This year's festival features 16 new works, ranging in length from 10 to 60 minutes. The plays' eclectic mix of characters includes three women mountain climbers at the top of their game, a dysfunctional parent council, three curious housemaids, a group of at-risk kids in a rehab yoga class, a street canvasser, a South American cardinal with a shady past, and Irish poet W.B. Yeats.

Week Three: Provenance by Linda McCready/directed by Pam Redfern; Trying
by Norma Crawford/directed by Juliet Paperny; Sick Kids Wanna Talk to You

New Ideas Festival will take place at The Alumnae Theatre Studio (70 Berkeley Street (at Adelaide)). The dates of the festival are March 9-27 (Wednesday-Saturday @8PM, Matinees Saturday & Sunday @2:30 PM,
Readings Saturdays at Noon)
