Kevin Hanssen in DICKENS - THE MASTER STORYTELLER

Charles Dickens gave us some of fiction's most memorable characters. Who will ever forget the antics of Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL or the grotesque appeal of Fagin in OLIVER TWIST? His sharp-witted satirical views of society and humanity have maintained their appeal throughout the generations because of the vitality of their characters and their relevance to all times and all people.

Inspired by this, and Dickens's own practice of telling his stories aloud, Kevin Hanssen comes to the Rosebank Theatre to present a show that transforms Dickens's writing into a theatrical delight. Three vivid stories transport us from the whimsy of the French aristocracy through a ghostly train tunnel to the mad and crazy lovableness of a miser who found his soul.

DICKENS - THE MASTER STORYTELLER comes to South Africa from its run at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) for a run of six performances from 5 - 9 April at 20:00 nightly, with a matinee at 15:00 on 9 April. Tickets are available through Webtickets or by calling Liz on 072 3166 133. For more information about Kevin Hanssen, visit his official website.
