A playreading of THE FINKELSTEINS ARE COMING TO DINNER will take place on 21 February at the Alexander Bar and Café's vibreant Upstairs Theatre. Written by Richard Kaplan, the hour long play will be read by Andrew Laubscher, Megan Furniss and David Viviers.

In THE FINKELSTEINS ARE COMING TO DINNER, a 36-year-old gay artist has closed himself off from the world. He is working towards an exhibition while trying to come to terms with great losses and alienation. He lives in a studio apartment, which he shares in spirit with his deceased Jewish mother. She is a witness to his life and love. The artist's latest model, James, enters their life with passion and zest and disturbs their quiet world of painting, scrabble and crossword puzzles.

THE FINKELSTEINS ARE COMING TO DINNER will be read at the Alexander Bar Upstairs Theatre 14:00 on 21 February. Tickets cost R50 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar's website. Tickets can also be purchased at the bar, which is situated at 76 Strand Street in Cape Town's city centre, anytime during its regular opening hours. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Keep up to date with events at Alexander Bar on Facebook and Twitter.
