The ninth Artscape Spring Drama Season lifts off this week with an award winning play and top actors. The programme for the next two weeks includes two musicals, an art exhibition and home grown comedy.

Ons Vir Jou - 5 to 26 October 2013 (± 2,5 hrs)

THE highly acclaimed Afrikaans musical on the Anglo Boer War must end this Saturday. This production at the Opera House paints a vivid picture of the battlefields of the rag-tag guerrilla army of Boer soldiers that fought desperately against the might of the British forces. Tickets range from R150 to R330.

Guys and Dolls - 19 October to 10 November 2013 (± 2,5 hrs)

COME and enjoy a slick musical tale at the Theatre with high stakes gambling, well-meaning missionaries and unlikely romance that will sweep you from the bustling streets of 1930s New York City to the tango rhythms of a Cuban nightclub, from the comedy of the risqué Hot Box to the drama of an underground craps game. Tickets range from R165 to R250.

The View - 26 October to 9 November 2013 (± 65 min)

A YOUNG man sits in a prison cell in space, looking down at a ruined earth. Come and discover why he has been imprisoned through a series of conversations with various people from his life at the Arena. Described as poetic and brilliant, The View has received various international and local awards and nominations. Tickets range from R50 to R85.

Legacy - 30 October to 1 December 2013

THIS collection by realist painter Marc Alexander in the Marble Foyer comprises seventeen works, including six recent portraits. His inspiration is spurred by his many years as a pastor to the exiled and destitute in the inner-city of Pretoria.

Casper Goes Kakie - 31 October to 2 November 2013 (± 2,5 hrs)

FOLLOWING an incredible demand to do a full length show in English, Afrikaans comedian Casper de Vries succumbed and goes Kakie at the Opera House. Tickets range from R180 to R260.
