Parade is back on Broadway! The revival, starring Tony Award winner Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond, directed by two-time Tony nominee Michael Arden, opened last night, March 16, at the Bernard B. The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family. A-list guests at the event included Patti LuPone (Company, Evita, Gypsy), Ben Vereen (Pippin, Fosse, Wicked), Sutton Foster (The Music Man, Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie), and freshly-minted 2022 Tony Award Nominated Actresses Shoshana Bean (Mr. Saturday Night, Wicked) Gabby Beans (Skin of Our Teeth, 'Succession,' 'House of Cards'), and Lear deBessonet (Encores! Into The Woods, Hercules, Miss You Like Hell), who will present the esteemed awards.

Smith and Brant Theatricals and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions are presenting a new production of Fatal Attraction. Kym Marsh (ITV’s Coronation Street) will perform the iconic role of Alex Forrest, Oliver Farnworth (ITV’s Coronation Street) her lover, Dan Gallagher and Susie Amy (ITV’s Footballers’ Wives) his wife, Beth.

CHICKEN & BISCUITS, the new comedy written by Douglas Lyons and directed by Zhailon Levingston, made its Broadway debut just last night, October 10, at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street.) The limited engagement runs through Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The Marriott Theatre presents Lionel Bart's OLIVER!, which is now running through Sunday, December 29th. The Tony Award-winning musical based on the classic Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, is directed by eight-time Jeff Award winner for Outstanding Direction, Nick Bowling, with musical direction by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson and choreography by Jeff Award winner Brenda Didier.

Last night, The Dramatists Guild Foundation celebrated Oliver Houser and Riti Sachdeva, both alumni of the DGF Fellows program, at a salon hosted by Joan and George Hornig. Houser performed songs from his body of work and Sachdeva was presented with the Thom Thomas Award in front of attendees including Stephen Schwartz.

Quintessence Theatre Group is proud to present Lionel Bart's beloved musical Oliver!  Adapted from Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, this tale about finding hope and a chosen family in the bleakest of situations will provide an adventurous escape and moving holiday parable for many Philadelphians starting November 14, 2018.  OPENING NIGHT is Saturday, November 17 at 7:30pm, and performances run through December 23, 2018.

Needham Community Theatre opens its 2017-2018 season with the production of Oliver!, a musical based on Charles Dickens's highly acclaimed masterpiece about a young orphan boy caught up in the troubles and turbulence of 19th century city streets.

Oliver Coopersmith (Netflix's I-Boy and the lead in forthcoming Sky Atlantic series Tin Star opposite Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks) and Jay Taylor (Prime Suspect 1973, Nell Gwynn and Wolf Hall/Bring up the Bodies) will star in the West End debut of 46 Beacon, playing the roles of Alan and Robert respectively in this coming-of-age and coming-out play set in 1970's America.

Based upon Charles Dickens' classic novel Oliver Twist, this musical production debuted at London's Noel Coward Theatre in 1960, moving to Broadway in 1964. Oliver! has since experienced many revivals on both sides of the Atlantic, most recently in 2009 on the West End, in addition to a number of international productions. It was also turned into an Academy Award-willing film in 1968. Now it comes to EPAC!

Cabaret & Broadway star T. Oliver Reid (After Midnight, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Never Gonna dance, La Cage Auz Folles, The Wedding Singer, Mary Poppins, Sister Act, GIRLS) debuted his new show, "Made in America" last night and Broadwayworld was there.  Reid's songfest was filled with the memories and love of the USA as told by this one American boy.  The show contained the songs of Irving Berlin, John Cougar Mellencamp, Dolly Parton, Jim Croce, Aaron Copland, Paul Simon and everything in between.

On February 2 (7PM & 9:30PM), Ryan Scott Oliver returned to 54 Below with material culled from his diverse and growing body of work: multimedia musical 35mm; southern gothic thriller We Foxes; epic Civil War-era folk opera Rope; macabre jazz operetta Darling; and rocking underworld odyssey Jasper in Deadland. Broadway powerhouses brought his high-octane songs of heroism, salvation, brotherhood and twisted tragedy to life in a celebration of the singularity and power of this composer's inimitable musical voice. In this season of ubiquitous productions of A Christmas Carol, a production of Lionel Bart's Oliver! comes as a welcome Dickensian alternative. South Portland's Lyric Music Theater has mounted a very respectable revival of Bart's 1960 musical based on Oliver Twist. A curious but catchy melange of dark drama and vaudeville, Oliver! survives in its trio of principal characters, Fagin, Nancy, and Sykes, and the memorable music Bart has written for them.
