PANAMA HATTIE, THEODORE & CO et al. Set for Musicals Tonight in '10-'11PANAMA HATTIE, THEODORE & CO et al. Set for Musicals Tonight in '10-'11
by BWW News Desk - Sep 7, 2010

Musicals Tonight!, now in its 13th year and honored with an Obie Award, is a not-for-profit theatre company in New York City primarily dedicated to the revival of 'neglected' musicals in a manner affordable to most audience members. The list of creators of the shows presented is a veritable Who's Who of American Musical Theatre - legendaries such as Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart. (more...)

by BWW News Desk - Sep 28, 2013

'Possibility Junkie' is a new musical theater work by David Ippolito (music, lyrics, book) and directed by Gretchen Cryer ('I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road'), who co-authored the book. The story is based loosely on the career of David Ippolito, who is known to hundreds of thousands of people across the country and around the world as 'That Guitar Man from Central Park.' Part singer/songwriter, part storyteller, part social-commentator and humorist, Ippolito has become famous for his simple catch phrase, 'It's just us,' and his ability to turn a large crowd of strangers into a group of friends. Theater for the New City will present the world premiere tonight, September 28 to October 20, 2013. (more...)

by Shari Barrett - Jun 2, 2014

The 46th Kritzerland show on Sunday, June 1 featured one of the most influential female lyricists of all time, the great Dorothy Fields. There was no one like Dorothy Fields. (more...)
