Critically-acclaimed cabarettist MOLLY POPE returns to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater with her show 'An Audience with Molly Pope' for a live album recording on Thursday, May 25 at 9:30 PM. Drawing from a catalogue of recontextualized pop, theater and standards, the 'viscerally thrilling alto' (Time Out New York) wryly constructs and deconstructs herself with her signature neo-retro style.  Part concert, monologue, sing-a-long and heart-to-heart, she echoes the heyday of Greenwich Village nightclubs in a current context. Ms. Pope's 'powerhouse vocals and sassy wit' ( paint the madcap picture of a 21st century singer with the band. Tedd Firth will lead an all-star five-piece band. BWW Review: Mozart's GARDENER Is On Site Opera's SECRET Weapon
by Richard Sasanow - May 15, 2017

It had a great score but an unmanageable book. So the director had it reshaped, cut and done in a creative environmental production that sent the singers scampering throughout the audience. No, I'm not talking about Hal Prince's famous reinvention of Leonard Bernstein's CANDIDE, but On Site Opera's (OSO) charming new take on Mozart's THE SECRET GARDENER (LA FINTA GIARDINIERA), a coproduction with the Atlanta Opera, which just opened in a New York garden before heading south. BWW Review: Angels in England, or rather ACT 1's NOISES OFF
by Jeffrey Ellis - May 13, 2017

Make no mistake about it, Michael Frayn's Noises Off, is a rollicking, hilarious roller coaster ride of mirth and merriment ¬Ė the quintessential British farce, replete with slamming doors, mistaken identities, sexual escapades and all the other necessary ingredients needed to create a memorable night at the theater. In the hands of director Bradley Moore and his uncommonly nimble crew of actors, it's as fun as ever, but we've come to the conclusion that perhaps we have reached critical mass in regard to Noises Off and that local theater companies might hold off on new productions of the show for, say, a decade or so.
