Class Act Books Announces Book Signing of Linda Nightingale

Class Act Books is happy to announce the signing of award-winning Linda Nightingale as its latest author and the acquiring of her short story anthology, 'Four by Moonlight,' as its October release. Ms Nightingale, a native of South Carolina, has lived in England and Canada, and now resides in Texas. Before turning to writing, she bred, trained and showed Andalusian horses, this knowledge showing up frequently in her novels. In 2012, her controversial novel, 'Gemini Rising,' was voted Best Mainstream Novel in the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll. Her vampire romance, 'Cardinal Desires' won the Georgia Romance Writers Magnolia Award in 2013, and that was followed by her science fiction romance, 'Love for Sale,' being awarded Best SF/Fantasy novel of 2015 by the Paranormal Romance Guild's Reviewer's Choice. It was also voted one of the Top Ten Romance Novels of 2015 by the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll for that year. 'Four by Moonlight' is her first novel for Class Act Books. This anthology is a collection of four short stories, written in the style winning her the above-mentioned award, with a paranormal romance theme. Class Act Books came under new ownership in 2013. Berkeley Rep Presents the World Premiere of THE LAST TIGER IN HAITI

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere production of The Last Tiger in Haiti by playwright Jeff Augustin and directed by Joshua Kahan Brody. Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that ZAKIR HUSSAIN, one of the world's greatest percussionists, the wizardly Indian tabla player and composer, returns to Minneapolis to perform at the historic Pantages Theatre (710 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 8 p.m. Zakir will be joined on stage by Indian classical, fusion and experimental performer RAHUL SHARMA. Sharma has written music for several Bollywood films. In 2002, he was one of the youngest music directors for whom the Nightingale of Inida Lata mangeshkar sang all the songs for Yash chopra's 'Mujhase Dosti karoge' starring Hritik Roshan-Kareena Kapoor. Six Playmakers Selected for 2017 Playwrights' Arena at Arena Stage

BWW Review: Showtunes' LEAP OF FAITH Spotlights Good Voices in a Not So Good Show

Just a few days ago I reviewed a show that, if you remember, I felt had one major downfall; that the newer songs bringing it from the film version to the stage version had lyrics written by Glenn Slater. Now, just a few blocks from that other production, Showtunes puts up a concert of another film to stage adaptation with all of the lyrics written by Glenn Slater and music from Alan Menken. And while there were certainly some wonderful voices in the concert it just proves one thing that Showtunes needs to pay attention to, not all shows need a revival. (more...)
