Listen To My Heart: David Friedman Shares Inspiration for Producing New CD, Nancy LaMott Sings David Zippel

David Friedman recently launced a campaign to fund a new CD, Nancy LaMott sings David Zippel, which will feature a collection of songs from late singer Nancy LaMott. It will include many never-before-heard recordings of classics such as, You Can Always Count on Me (from City of Angels), How Can I Win? (from The Goodbye Girl) and many more of David Zippel's legendary collaborations. With 21 days left to go, Friedman has raised $40,000 of his $50,000 goal. He is asking anyone who has been affected by Nancy's music and talent to donate what they can to help get the album produced and keep her memory alive. Depending on the amount given, donors will receive anything from a CD to a custom song and dinner with David Friedman and David Zippel in return. (more...)

He appeared in two seasons at The Stratford Shakespeare Festival where his credits include: 'Judas' in Jesus Christ Superstar, 'Connie Rivers' in Grapes of Wrath, and 'Che' in Evita directed by Gary Griffin, earning Broadway World Awards for each. Josh also appeared as 'Marius' in the US National Tour of Les Miserables and 'Tony' in the International Tour of West Side Story. It took Lucie Arnaz her entire professional life to get booked for a solo nightclub/cabaret show at the Cafe Carlyle. It turned out to be worth the wait-for herself and her audiences-and her weeklong run at the stylish club (that began on April 13 and ends with shows tonight at 8:45 and 10:45) would no doubt have made her famous parents--Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz--beam with pride. Lucy might have erupted into a joyful crying jag, while Desi would have kvelled in his signature rapid-fired Spanish because when it comes to her performance on a cabaret stage, Lucie Arnaz doesn't 'got some 'splaining to do.'
