Throughout my career, I’ve tried to stay attuned to the ticket-buying experience. I walk through the process online at the major retailers. I’ll stop by rush lines or in-person lotteries to talk to folks. And, last week, I woke up early a few days to talk to people on/participate in the standing-room-only line for Hadestown.

Whenever life feels overwhelming, I find it best just to take five minutes and just sit.  My stress usually comes from inflating the importance or duration of different tasks to the point I feel completely out of control.  However, taking just five minutes to sit and remember how grateful I am to have the opportunity to be busy with things I love pursuing.

WICKED comes to town this week! WICKED is in fact, pushing up against THE LION KING as the highest grossing musical of all time. Louisville, KY's White Reaper have surprised fans with a brand new cover of The Sound's “I Can't Escape Myself.” The song is available on all streaming platforms via Elektra. The original track notably served as the opener to the English post-punk band's acclaimed 1980 full-length debut LP, Jeopardy. 

For the “Late Nite Catechism” series of shows, actors dress up as a character named “Sister” and lead their audiences through a “class” full of audience interaction. Denise Fennell-Pasqualone has been performing as 'Sister' for many years now, but–for this specific show–she preaches about St. Patrick's Day in the most exuberant and comedic way.

The album finds Lake Street Dive working once more with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.), also marking the first time all of the members of the band collaborated in the earliest, most vulnerable stages of songwriting together, creating a unique approach to the sessions.
