A tale as old as time comes to Winter Garden! Featuring Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a Book by Linda Woolverton, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will captivate audiences of all ages with the story of Belle and the Beast’s magical castle. Directed by the Garden’s Artistic Directing Consultant Roberta Emerson, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast runs April 22 - May 22, 2022.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will present its first live Great Music in a Great Space concert of 2022 with a performance by Associate Organist Daniel Ficarri and guest artist violinist Stella Chen,  on  Tuesday, March 1 at 7:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street).

On Friday, February 4, 2022, GRAMMY Award-winning Catalyst Quartet will release UNCOVERED Volume 2: Florence B. Price on Azica Records. The album is the second issue of a multi-volume anthology highlighting string quartet works by historically important Black composers which aims to bring greater awareness and programming of their music.

Shriver Hall Concert Series will open its 2021-22 season with a performance by the lauded Miró Quartet. The Drama League has just announced the 2021 Nominees and Special Recognition Honorees for The 87th Annual Drama League Awards. JSP Records (London) has announced the release on June 26, 2020 of Judy Garland: The Best of Lost Tracks 2 1936-1967, a single-CD derived from the double-CD Lost Tracks 2 1936-1967, first issued in 2019.

Bay Area bluegrass matriarch, Laurie Lewis, is no stranger to sharing a song and microphone with those lucky enough to share a stage with her, but not often does one catch that energy behind the closed door of a recording studio. Never one to back down from anything, Lewis called upon a number of her West Coast cohorts to bottle up these little jolts of collaborative lightning on her newest release, and Laurie Lewis. Out March 27th, Lewis's 13-track collection of duets isn't a release for release's sake, but a thoughtful contribution to the American music canon, honoring the relationships and friendships that have brought her to the present moment, and also supporting the young musicians who will help carry her legacy into the next generation. “There are things that you can communicate musically together, which are hard to put into words,” Lewis explains. “To have those conversations with people I love and who have been so significant throughout my career is a beautiful thing.”

The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess returns to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time since 1990, in a new production directed by James Robinson in his company debut. Starring Eric Owens and Angel Blue and conducted by David Robertson. The Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) today released the list of special programs for Open House Chicago 2019a?"now in its ninth year and one of the largest architecture festivals in the world.
