THE KING'S SPEECH Comes To Hartford Stage In March

Former Artistic Director Michael Wilson will return to Hartford Stage in March to direct the original play which inspired the Academy Award-winning film The King's Speech. Written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter David Seidler, the play tells the true story of King George VI, his speech therapist Lionel Logue, and a friendship that helped steer the course of history. The King's Speech will run Thursday, March 19, through Sunday, April 19.

Actor-Singer-Director, Eric Michael Gillett, has joined the cast of Michael Colby and Paul Katz's Slay It With Music In Concert a?" to benefit International Rescue Committee. The original musical, acclaimed in both London and off-Broadway, is an ode to Grande Dame Guignol, the genre of 1960s horror movies in which stars like Bette Davis and Joan Crawford made screen comebacks, in the tradition of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Sunset Boulevard, and Psycho. It's a perfect way to cap off Halloween weekend, promising laughs, thrills and chills. The show is Saturday, November 2nd at 7 pm at The Green Room 42, on the 4th Floor of YOTEL at 42nd Street and 10th Avenue. The concert version features an all-star cast, directed by Charles Repole with musical direction by Phil Reno. It tells the story of twin girls separated at birth, reunited by chance at a summer camp 10 years later. In an attempt to re-join their divorced parents, they decide to exchange identities.

Casting Announced For Seattle Rep's LAST OF THE BOYS

Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced complete ensemble casting for its production of renowned Seattle playwright Steven Dietz's Last of the Boys, an emotional story of the Vietnam War's complex legacy. We meet Ben - he lives off-the-grid in his trailer in the California Central Valley, haunted by the memories of his service during the Vietnam War. His self-imposed exile is disrupted by the arrival of Ben's old war buddy, Jeeter, with his new girlfriend and her volatile mother in tow. Intimate, funny, and fierce, Last of the Boys delves into a veteran's struggle to understand his troubled past, which threatens to swallow him whole. Last of the Boys will be directed by Seattle Rep Artistic Director Braden Abraham and runs January 18 - February 10, 2019 (opening night is January 23) on the Bagley Wright stage.
