Tonight, NBC will air its sixth live musical production. Following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the peacock network will be presenting Annie. Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

On Saturday, November 13, Broadway legend Andrea McArdle visited a group of dancers from National Dance Institute during their rehearsal for NBC'S ANNIE LIVE! Henson as Miss Hannigan, Harry Connick Jr. as Daddy Warbucks, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace, Tituss Burgess as Rooster, Megan Hilty as Lily St. Regis and Celina Smith in the title role of Annie. 

Tony-nominee Megan Hilty will replace Tony-winner Jane Krakowski in NBC's upcoming Annie Live!

Original Annie Andrea McArdle confirmed the news on the Today Show this morning alongside Celina Smith, who is playing Annie in the new live musical on NBC. The new live musical will also feature Nicole Scherzinger as Grace, Jane Krakowski as Lily St. Regis, and Tituss Burgess as Rooster Hannigan.

Now running on the stage of the White Theatre at the Jewish Community Center’s Overland Park campus is a very credible production of 1977’s “Annie.” It is the first new, full, live, Broadway Style indoor production to tread the boards of this very nice auditorium in sixteen months.

The award-winning actress will play opposite a soon-to-be-discovered young star as the network kicks off a nationwide casting search for the titular role of Annie. The live production will air Thursday, Dec. 2 on NBC.
