The first was the 1988 original film, the second was the 2002 Broadway musical, the third was its 2007 film adaptation, and now the 2016 live television production on NBC. Hairspray takes place in Baltimore, Maryland in the year 1962, where we meet a plump teenage girl named Tracy Turnblad, whose lifelong dream is to dance on the local TV dance program known as The Crony Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show and becomes an overnight sensation, she luanches a campaign to intergrate the show. The Kennedy Center and CBS Announce New Broadcast Agreement
