The complete cast and creative team have been announced for The Old Globe production of William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night. Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on June 21 and run through July 26, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. (more...)

Dorset Theatre Festival's New Play Development Program is off to a great start this summer, with the announcement of a $10,000 NEA grant to support DTF's commitment to new work. DTF will continue to host its popular New Play Reading Series this year, and for the first time will collaborate with the Marble House Project and hold the readings in the Marble House Event Barn. In addition to the new play reading series, the Jean E. Miller Young Playwrights Program will present winning plays from regional student writers on June 15th at the Playhouse. (more...)

It's nice to break away from the glitz and fluffiness and see a raw, truly emotional play that makes you feel. The melodrama, by N. Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia (BGCP) announced today the kickoff of 'A Bold Change for Kids,' a $40 million capital campaign that will greatly benefit thousands of youth who attend Clubs throughout Philadelphia. About half of the funds raised will be used to build a new, state-of-the-art Boys & Girls Club in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, as well as a new ice hockey rink which will be operated by the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation. The remaining funds will be used to renovate six additional Clubs in the Philadelphia area. The Roberts family and the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation are jumpstarting the campaign with an $8 million donation, and David L. Cohen, Senior Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation, will serve as the campaign chair. (more...)

The Dallas Theater Center Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Jeffrey Woodward as managing director of the 56-year-old organization. Woodward's experience includes Syracuse Stage and 17 years at McCarter Theatre Center. The appointment follows the departure of Heather M. Kitchen, who announced her retirement in September 2014.
