'Amadeus' is set two hundred and fifty years ago in the count of the Austrian Emperor and details an ongoing confrontation between Antonio Salieri, the mediocre but established court composer and the volatile Mozart. Salieri displays his jealousy and hatred during the course of the play as he attempts to destroy and discredit Mozart.



This classic tale of genius vs. mediocrity is a historical masterpiece and was the winner of both a Tony and Oscar for best play and movie.

Syracuse Stage has announced plans for adjustments to the 2020/2021 season in order to address the continuing impact of the Covid-19 virus. Three previously announced plays will be replaced in the six show season. The Cold Read Festival of New Plays returns with additional enhanced experiences. A series of community focused performances and conversations will be added and subscribers will be given access to a series of special interviews and behind the scenes looks guided by Syracuse Stage artistic leadership.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the full cast for William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Sean Holmes. Sean joined the Globe as Associate Artistic Director after almost a decade as Artistic Director of the Lyric Hammersmith. A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare's evergreen comedy of chaos and order, opens on Friday 28 June in The Globe Theatre. Bottom will be played by Jocelyn Jee Esien, returning to the Globe following her titular role of Dr Faustus.

Audible Announce New London Production Of RADIO at Arcola Theatre

Audible, the world's leading producer and provider of spoken-word entertainment, today deepens its commitment to UK theatre announcing a new London production of Radio written by Al Smith. Josh Roche directs Adam Gillen as Charlie Fairbanks in a one-man play about memory, love and spaceships. The production opens at Arcola Theatre on 24 June, with previews from 19 June and runs until 13 July. To coincide with the opening of the stage show, a studio recording of Radio will also release exclusively on Audible this summer, available for members to download worldwide.
