Paints n' Cocktails Launches Nationwide Franchise Program

Paints n' Cocktails is an entertainment studio where guests are encouraged to follow along with a trained artist to paint on their own blank canvas a replica of a painting selected for that particular session. Events are held both at The Studio and off site. Guests paint their own works of art while listening to a selection of great music, and are invited to BYOB("bring your own beverage"). The artists are chosen for their entertainment abilities as well as artistic skills-ensuring a fun experience for everyone. (more...)

Cynthia King Dance Studio Opens Location in Flatbush

Cynthia King Dance Studio, a 12-year Brooklyn institution offering dance training to children aged 2 and up, will celebrate the grand opening of its second Brooklyn location, now in Flatbush, with three free Open House events on Saturdays, May 17, 24 and 31 from 2:00-5:00 PM. The Studio will welcome Brooklyn families to tour the spacious new facility, meet studio teachers and learn about its exciting array of dance classes and programs. The activity-packed Open Houses will be fun for children and adults alike, featuring open classes, dance demos and raffles. The audio industry has experienced a dramatic shift from vinyl LPs and CDs to compressed, digital files enabling the sharing of music across a variety of mobile devices as well as streaming music services increasingly accessed found in today's vehicles. The compression process has made audio more mobile than ever, but at the price of audio quality. Compressing audio files can discard up to 90 percent of the original audio content captured in The Studio. As a result, consumers cannot experience music in the way the artist originally intended. Clari-Fi transforms the listening experience back to a pre-compression era, by addressing this deterioration of audio quality by restoring what has been lost, to deliver a rich, uncompromised listening experience from any compressed music source. Singer and songwriter Amos Lee will make his Segerstrom Center for the Arts debut on Wednesday, August 6 at 8 p.m. in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall as part of the second leg of his 2014 Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song Tour. His recent fall and winter headline tour included sold-out shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, ACL Live in Austin and the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Sony Pictures Entertainment has closed a deal with Chloe Grace Moretz to star in the film adaptation of the bestselling novel The 5th Wave, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures and Hannah Minghella, president of Production for The Studio. An original approach to an alien invasion movie, the film will be directed by J Blakeson, with a screenplay by Susannah Grant, based on the book by Rick Yancey.
