In the unique world of Love Letters, a play by A.R. Gurney, there's no grand set, elaborate costumes, or dramatic action. Instead, the power of the story unfolds through the simple act of two actors sitting at separate tables, reading aloud a lifetime of letters and cards exchanged between two characters: Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III.
The play opens with Melissa and Andrew, seemingly strangers, facing the audience. As they begin to read, we're transported into their world, spanning nearly 50 years.

The Grammy Museum will be hosting NOTES ON LIVING: ALL-STAR JAZZ WITH TALES BY BRIAN DOYLE May 14, 2019 as a joint benefit for WordTheatre in the Schools (WITS) and the Grammy Museum. WordTheatre's artistic director Cedering Fox will be producing and directing this evening of selected stories by award-winning author Brian Doyle, read by a star-studded cast, and accompanied by an all-star jazz band led by Starr Parodi.
