"Naked In Alaska- The True Story of Stripping in the Last Frontier" will play the Assembly Roxy, today 1 Aug- 25 August 2014 as part of the Assembly Festival.
Two girls escape California to work at a strip club in the Alaskan wilderness. An adventure that begins in innocence lures them into a 10-year career that tests the limits of friendship and the will to survive. Naked in Alaska: The True Story of Stripping in the Last Frontier is the hit American solo play written and performed by Valerie Hager. The play is based on Hager's own life experiences as an exotic dancer shimmying her way across various cities from Mexico to the far reaches of Alaska.Directed by Scott Wesley Slavin, Naked In Alaska follows the gripping adventures of the struggling young Hager who dreams of life on the stage but who, instead, spends a decade entangled in the seedy world of stripping. The play, which makes its UK debut at Assembly Roxy at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is unapologetic, poignant, funny, and very real.
